What's Social Documentary? To me it's capturing the essence of what's going on in your own personal world at the moment, what you see in your own surroundings and society today. I love that I can bring issues that mean a lot to me to light and it hopefully start a conversation.

Piano Man

I play everything by ear. It's all up here. First time I played here I played for 9 hours straight. From 12 till 9 o'clock at night. Now that's what you call a piano marathon. I come here almost everyday.

...I've only ever had two girlfriends. It was just never meant to be for me I guess. Love that is. This is my passion, but you can't take this to bed with you at night. One of my proudest moments would have to be when Johnny Kidd and The Pirates let me perform with them. Look here, do you like poetry? It says 'I've really gone and flipped my lid, for that dreamboat, Johnny Kid! I'd like some info, tell me why, he wears that black patch on one eye?'

Spread The Word

struggle3 copy.jpg

My biggest struggle in life was before I found God. I was 40 when I found him, before that I was miserable and unhappy with life. I was never content with what I had. One day I walked to the top of of a hill and said "If there is a God, tell me now!" Nothing happened and I went home. But the next day a female co-worker gave me a flyer to a church meeting and I decided to give it a go. I haven't looked back since. I am so much happier in life and I am here today because I want to spread the word and make people feel as good and as happy as i feel since finding the Lord. The problem is people today are too concerned with the materialistic but that won't ever make you happy.

CF Specialist Nurse: Paul Ratcliff

This project looks into what it's like to work for the NHS, given the pressure that it's currently under. We don't often think about the people working behind the scenes making sure that 24/7 health care is available to all, begging the question; who helps the person that helps everyone else?

This project follows my father, who with over 20 years experience often had to work overtime and take on a second job to support his family.

State of Sheffield; 2015

For the first time Photography students had been approached by the Sheffield City Council to go round Sheffield and produce images for their State of Sheffield report, a yearly report on how the city is doing compared to other cities in Europe as well as statistics about the city such as mortality rate, employment and businesses. These were the six I submitted, two images were chosen to be exhibited and the final image was published and used in their report.
